Serendipity Equestrian has had the pleasure of coming across some amazing horses that have really touched our hearts.
This page is dedicated to those horses, who will be sadly
missed by the entire Serendipity team!

Nothing
is more sacred as the bond between a horse and a rider. No other creature can
ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the
memory lives on, because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, and the
very existence dies also.

Admiral Pete Blue was a 1993 Registered Grey Appendix Quarter Horse Gelding who believed he was a Thoroughbred. Blue stood 17 hands and was a gentle giant. He started out his life as a racehorse but was retired due to an injury. He was quickly re-trained as a show jumper. Blue was an amazing and athletic jumper who won a Puissance jumping 4'10" and was only stopped at that height because that was the top of the standards! Blue also began showing in three day eventing when his owner, Lara Matiisen, became interested in trying her hand at the sport. It was also thought that Blue would excel in the eventing field as he had endless amounts of energy and he was fearless. Blue literally would jump anything from anywhere!! Due to his successful eventing debut and his demonstrated a keenness for eventing, the plans were to begin full event training in 2004. Unfortunately, Blue was struck with a severe bout of colic which resulted in him sadly passing away in the Winter of 2003. Blue taught his rider so much about horsemanship and learning to ride. He will be sadly missed by everyone! |
